Giving Day 2024

This year also saw us hold the University’s second Giving Day. On the 3rd and 4th October 2024, UofG’s global community came together during 36 hours of events, challenges and celebrations. From building LEGO towers on the Gilmorehill campus to getting involved in our online quiz, students, colleagues, alumni, supporters and friends of UofG united for an unforgettable day that will have a long-term impact.

As well as enjoying food trucks, bake sales and events, this year our Giving Day supporters raised an incredible £126,795. More than 500 donors from 31 countries around the world gave generously to help more people realise their dreams of a Glasgow education, offer students the opportunity to make the most of their UofG experience and support medical research that has the potential to change the world.

The funds raised through Giving Day 2023 and 2024 have helped 12 students take their place at UofG and provided essential support for those facing unexpected challenges. Giving Day donors have helped drive forward research to address the world’s most pressing challenges and build a healthier, fairer future. Giving Day gifts also funded more than 20 sports bursaries as well as 42 staff and student projects that enrich the University and our wider community.
