Your family ties to UofG
We always love to see your family's graduation pictures – and for our next issue of Avenue, we need your help! Does your family have a graduation-through-the-generations story to tell, like the one below? If so, we'd like to hear all about it for our autumn 2024 issue of Avenue.
From a 1960s graduate, Sally Crozier (MA 1967), surrounded by her parents and six sisters...
to her mother, Eileen Crozier (MA 1989, below and second from right, above), who went back to university after she'd retired, and became one of UofG's oldest Latin graduates, aged 69...
and then to Sally's daughter, Jennifer Baird (MA 1996, below right), who graduated alongside her cousin Lucinda Bailey (MA 1996, and also Eileen's granddaughter). Fast-forward another couple of decades, and Jennifer eventually became your Avenue editor!
This feature was first published in June 2024.
Send us your images!
We'd like you to submit your favourite photos illustrating you and your family's enduring UofG connections down through the decades.
Whether it's a snapshot of a multi-generational graduation day, a treasured family moment on campus, or any cherished memory that highlights the bond between UofG graduates and their families, we want to celebrate it.
They should be sent to avenue@glasgow.ac.uk, high-resolution quality if possible, by Friday 9 August, when we will make a selection to include in our next issue. We can't wait to see your wonderful memories and share them with all our alumni in autumn Avenue!
