New Year Honours List 2021

A pioneering physicist and a former Army GP turned researcher are two of the six alumni and honorary graduates recognised in the New Year Honours list for 2021.
Dr Beverly Bergman (PhD 2016) appointed OBE for services to veterans in Scotland.
Professor Jane Glover CBE (Honorary DMus 1997) appointed Dame for services to music.
Mr Kenneth MacDonald (BDS 1974) appointed MBE for services to dentistry and dental training abroad.
Professor Sheila Rowan MBE (BSc Hons 1991) appointed CBE for services to science.
Dr Raad Shakir (MSc 1978) appointed CBE for services to global neurology.
Mr Michael Tobias (BSc 1978) appointed OBE for services to the Jewish community.
