Applications are now open for the CCNU 'Yangtze River' International Summer School 2025 - taking place between 1st June to 14th June 2025.
We would like to make you aware of an exciting upcoming opportunity - applications are now open for the Central China Normal University 'Yangtze River' International Summer School 2025, taking place between 1st June to 14th June 2025.
Sponsored by Central China Normal University (CCNU), this Program is organised by School of Urban
& Environmental Sciences, CCNU, and School of Tourism & Resource Environment, Qiannan Normal
University for Nationalities. It is officially endorsed by the Office of International Cooperation and
Exchanges, the College of International Cultural Exchange and the Graduate School of CCNU.
The programme combines field trips to various natural and man-made sites along the Yangtze River, academic lectures and seminars. It enables you to:
- personally experience the wonderful nature and projects
- know and understand Chinese efforts of using and protecting the Yangtze River
- discuss with renown scholars on the challenges of using and protecting the Yangtze River
- work with your peer students on some mini projects
- learn about Chinese history and tradition and expand your horizon
Application Eligibility & Process
In order to be eligible to apply, applicants must be aged between 18-45 years and proficient in English language. The summer school programme will be delivered in English, and therefore is open to those who have no previous experience of Chinese language.
The deadline for completed applications is Wednesday 30th April 2025 at 5:00pm.
In order to apply, please submit the following scanned/digital document copies to the Confucius Institute email mailbox confucius-enquiries@glasgow.ac.uk by the deadline:
- Completed Application Form - CCNU 'Yangtze River' International Summer School 2025 - Application Form with attached digital photo
- An attached personal statement (250 words approx.)
- A photocopy of your passport photo page
- A photocopy of your student ID
Programme Fees
There are five funded scholarship places available for University of Glasgow students, which would cover the in-country costs of tuition, accommodation, meals and transport during the programme duration in China. However, applicants will be required to pay for and arrange their own:
- Visa application fees
- International return flights
- Travel insurance for full travel period
*It is very important that you do not book flights, arrange travel insurance or apply for your Visa until your summer school application result has been confirmed as successful.*
