The University of Tartu is the largest and most prestigious university in Estonia, in the city of Tartu. It is renowned for its academic research, and belongs to the esteemed Coimbra group, as well as being ranked in the top 2% of universities worldwide.
Tartu is the second biggest city in Estonia, after the capital Tallinn, and is considered to be an intellectual centre and a student town. It has a population of over 93,000 people and has a refreshing mix of old and very modern architecture.
