Creative Destruction Lab – CDL Quantum Programme now open

Applications are now open for Creative Destruction Lab – Quantum Program. A seed-stage program for massively scalable, science-based companies. Since its inception, companies that have participated in the CDL program have created more than $4.34 billion in equity value.

For the last three years, CDL has operated a stream that incubates startups at the forefront of quantum computing. To date, we have helped 70 ventures begin their startup journey in the quantum ecosystem.

Ideal Quantum Stream candidates are creative, intelligent, and ambitious individuals with technical competency in machine learning, computational science, physics, math, statistics, or engineering; business acumen and experience in technology startups; or relevant industry experience or expertise. Startups at all levels of maturity will be considered.

Mentorship and Resources Offered

  • Mentorship from experienced quantum operators who have previously scaled quantum-based companies, whether as an entrepreneur or as an early investor.
  • Access to quantum systems from a range of providers, including D-Wave, IBM Q, Rigetti, and Xanadu.
  • Extensive 4-week bootcamp in Toronto that includes technical training from hardware providers, business guidance from leading industry professionals and academics, and multi-platform Quantum Hackathon.
  • Technical validation and feedback from leading academics researchers such as Roger Melko (quantum many-body physics), Michele Mosca (quantum algorithms and cryptography), Barry Sanders (quantum optics, information and algorithms), and Artur Izmaylov (quantum chemistry).
  • Guidance on strategy and business development from business students and faculty at the Rotman School of Management.
  • Opportunities to raise capital from angel investors and top-tier venture capital firms in the CDL network.

NOTE: CDL does not charge founders a fee or equity for participating in the program.
