Quantum Shorts Film Screening and Panel Discussion
Why not grab your popcorn, find a comfy seat and join QuantIC for a special screening of the Quantum Shorts film festival finalists on the 25 February!
Following on from the most recent Quantum Shorts film festival announcement on 26 January, the Centre for Quantum Technologies, QuTech and the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme have organised a free online screening and panel discussion on the shortlisted films selected & their individual takes on quantum, set to take place on the 25 February.
You can stream the films from the video below – this will be made available on the 25th February. Alternatively, you can tune in here
The livestream event will feature a panel of scientists and artists to discuss the movies and their takes on quantum. The films have been described to be “painfully touching”, “slightly absurd” and “brilliantly unexpected”. They might also make you “laugh out loud”
The ten shortlisted films were chosen from 224 films received from 52 different countries during the festival’s call for entries in 2020. The task for filmmakers was to tell a quantum story in no more than five minutes of film. Filmmakers tackled the challenge in many thought-provoking ways, and in many styles, including live action, puppeteering and animation.
