Clinical Observership Programme
The BHF Centre of Research Excellence in Glasgow offers a unique and exciting type of 12 week Clinical Observership for post-doctoral researchers at the School of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Health. The Observership provides scientists with exposure to a broad range of cardiovascular diseases across a variety of different disciplines in real-life clinics, including experience in medical, surgical and imaging departments. The programme, which is highly competitive, offers an innovative approach to developing insight into evidence-based medicine.
As a result, researchers have the opportunity to gain a new perspective on their research focus, as well as fostering ideas that may stimulate interest into new translational research projects. By the end of the programme, researchers will be expected to either write up a case-study or a joint review article that brings together both the clinical and basic science aspects of the case of interest. The Observership Programme has been certified by the NHS.
