The CCSE adds another award to its collection with Maria's paper on Bourdiesian perspective published at the prestigious International Computing Education Research conference (ICER) in August 2021. The ICER conference describes its selection criteria for best papers as follows:

Papers will be selected that best illustrate the highest standards of computing education research, taking into account the quality of its questions asked, methodology, analysis, writing, and contribution to the field.

Up against some of the highest quality papers in computing education research, Maria and Quintin's paper entitled Re-Examining Inequalities in Computer Science Participation from a Bourdieusian Sociological Perspective was recognised as the best submission to the conference.

Additionally, Ethel Tshukudu presented her paper Teachers’ Views and Experiences on Teaching Second and Subsequent Programming Languages at the conference (link: https://doi.org/10.1145/3446871.3469752) which generated some interesting discussion from the audience. Nicola Looker also participated in the Doctoral Consortium and presented a poster and a lighting talk (link: https://doi.org/10.1145/3446871.3469778).
