CMALS Mission Statement
The mission of CMALS is to promote interdisciplinary research and scholarship in Mathematics applied to the Life Sciences, in the broadest sense. The Centre is a collaboration between the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde and was established in 2003 under the Synergy agreement. The 3 main themes of our research are: Disease, Treatment and diagnosis, and Ecosystems and Biodiversity. Research across the Centre varies considerably and includes heart modelling, biological fluid dynamics, soft tissue mechanics, drug delivery, medical devices, marine science, ecology and epidemiology.
