JEOL CRYO ARM 300
Our JEOL CRYO ARM 300 is the SCMI's flagship, fully automated cryo-electron microscope. The microscope is used for collecting data for high-resolution single-particle experiments or high-throughput tomography. Users set up their session together with an SCMI staff member to ensure they get the most out of their microscope time. Once set-up, the microscope runs for 48 or 72 hours to automatically collect the data.

JEOL JEM F200
Our JEOL JEM F200, better known as the 'F2-Cryo' is mostly used to screen samples prior to data collection, although it is a very capable cryo-microscope in its own right.
- TEM operating at 200kV

JEOL 1400 Flash
Our JEOL 1400 Flash is the most recently installed of our electron microscopes. It is mostly used for negative stain screening of single particle samples, and also for initial cryo experiments and user training. It can also be used for other conventional electron microscopy experiments such as tomography of embedded sections.
- TEM operating at 80, 100 or 120kV
- Tungsten filament electron source
- JEOL 'Flash' camera
- (SerialEM software for automated data collection) - coming soon
