Joyce White OBE
Former Chief Executive of West Dunbartonshire Council and leadership development coach
Joyce was an experienced Chief Executive of West Dunbartonshire Council, responsible for the management of Council operations and a wide range of key services, as well as working closely with Elected Members to ensure strong and visible leadership and direction. She led change programmes and worked across cross parties to improve performance in public sector Scotland. She has served as a non-executive on various Boards and as a Trustee for over 3 decades. Currently she serves on the Board of NHS Ayrshire and Arran, is vice chair of North Ayrshire Integrated Joint Board, Inspiring Scotland and CentreStage in Kilmarnock.
As an accredited executive coach and mentor, she works with Chief Executives and Senior Leaders nationally and has led and developed leadership programmes across the public, private and voluntary sector.
A previous Chair of SOLACE Scotland (Society of Local Authority Chief Executives), she served on the Board of Solace in Business and the Improvement Service in Scotland. Joyce is a Fellow with both the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.
Joyce has been involved with Girl Guiding for many years and is now Vice President and Ambassador for Girl Guiding Scotland in Ayrshire having also served as a County Commissioner.
In 2018, Joyce received an OBE for her services to local government, further education and girl guiding.
