XR Hardware

The University's XR teaching lab is equipped with 15 individual XR stations. The lab can support 15 concurrent users working individually, or 30 users working in pairs.

Each station is equipped with:

  • High-end PC - built to render complex 3D experiences smoothly.
  • Touchscreen monitor - lets staff and peers see what the user is experiencing and provide support when needed.
  • Meta Quest 3 headset - for both irtual reality and mixed reality applications.
  • Tactile floor mat - marks out a safe play area and helps users stay oriented.
  • UV-C sanitising station - ensures all headsets and accessories are cleaned between after every use.
