Our Funding
We are funded by the Scottish Funding Council as part of their Alliances for Research Challenges (ARCs) initiative. There are currently four ARCs funded by the Scottish Funding Council:
- Scottish Alliance for Food - healthy, equity and sustainability
- Scottish Research Alliance for Energy, Homes and Livelihoods
- Brain Health Alliance
- Quantum Technologies Alliance
What do ARCs do?
The ARCs have been set up to connect research excellence in Scotland with national challenges. Broadly, the ARCs aim to:
- Coordinate the research community across disciplines, sectors and institutions to foster collaboration
- Leverage additional funding into the Scottish research system
- Connect Scottish Government priorities with areas of strength within the publicly funded system
- Foster early career researcher communities, training and development in Scotland
