Tayside Clinical Technology Workshop
Published: 6 December 2016
A clinical multidisciplinary event bringing together physicians from a number of different specialities to examine the current state of the Sonopill technology development
This event took place on Friday 29th April 2016 in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.
This was intended as a clinical multidisciplinary event bringing together physicians from a number of different specialities to examine the current state of the Sonopill technology development. Our intention was to examine and critique the currently proposed modes of diagnosis and therapy, broaden these modalities to other disciplines and invite further novel means of investigation and intervention.
The workshop focused on exploring technology and its potential in solving issues encountered in day-to-day practice as identified by the clinicians themselves.
The workshop was be organised into small interdisciplinary groups, with each group chaired by a peer with medical student assistance, working together to address the themes of the Sonopill technology for diagnosis and treatment in order to meet clinical needs and create engineering actionable ideas. The resulting ideas will then be discussed at a follow-up engineering-based “clinical hackathon”.
