Rebecca Rae - administrator
We have a new administrator! From June 2024 until December 2024, Rebecca will be looking after all our admin needs, from updating the website, to podcast transcripts, to financial administration.
Rebecca is based in the College of Social Sciences Research Office's Admin Hub team and works on a number of projects across the College.
Rebecca holds an MA in Scottish Language and Literature and an MPhil in Scottish Literature, both from the University of Glasgow. Before joining the University of Glasgow, they worked as an administrator at Glasgow Caledonian University's Research Centre for Health (ReaCH).
Bella Hoogeveen - project manager
Bella has studied various languages and holds a BA in European Studies from the University of Amsterdam. Immediately prior to commencing her role as UNESCO Co-Ordinator, Bella worked as the administrator for the AHRC Large Grant "Researching Multilingually at the Borders of Language, the body, Law and the State".
Before joining the University of Glasgow she worked as an administrator in International Operations at Edinburgh Napier University, worked for a number of years as the Head of School Administration at a small language school in France and as Administrator at the Institute for Dutch Language Education at the University of Amsterdam.

Project manager
Worked in administrative and operational roles for 10 years and moved into research administration 7 years ago. She has worked on multiple research projects at the University of Glasgow, including multi-million pound UKRI funded projects.
Brittnee Leysen
Administrator
Brittnee joined the UNESCO RIELA Secretariat in October 2021 as a Project Administrator. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and Communications from the College of Charleston, and an MLitt in Celtic Studies from the University of Glasgow. In 2024, she completed her PhD at the University of Glasgow on Pākehā Place-Names in Aotearoa New Zealand's Clutha and Central Otago Districts: An anthropological onomastic study.
Lauren Roberts
Coordinator with remit financial administration, research and business development, media
Lauren joined the University of Glasgow in November 2008 as Postgraduate Research Administrator within Research and Innovation Services working closely with the Postgraduate Research Strategy Manager to develop and implement University policy in relation to PGR students and provide ongoing monitoring and data management for cross-College internal and external postgraduate research funding. During her tenure at RIS Lauren also supported a number of the University’s cross-disciplinary Strategic Research Networks, including GRAMNet. Lauren managed the £2m AHRC Large Grant Researching Multilingually at the Borders of Language, the body, Law and the State 2014-2017, involving 5 institutions across 7 countries, before taking up her role as UNESCO Coordinator in 2017.
Before joining the University she was an adviser for a national drug, alcohol and sexual health service in Glasgow and a project management assistant for a pharmaceutical testing company in Dundee.
She holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Glasgow and a Masters degree in science from the Open University.
Lauren moved on to a new role in November 2022.
