Advent Journey 2021: Advent ~ Hope and Promise Alison Phipps and Omaid Sharifi Alison holds the UNESCO Chair in Refugee Integration through Languages and the Arts at the University of Glasgow where she is also Professor of Languages and Intercultural Studies. Omaid is President at ArtLords a grassroots movement of artists and volunteers motivated by the desire to pave the way for social transformation and behavioural change through employing the soft power of art and culture as a non-intrusive approach. |

During COP26 in Glasgow, UNESCO RILA supported the work of the University of Glasgow and The Climate Fringe in particular the work of hospitality and hosting those at threat of being rendered homeless and landless through conflicts associated with climate chaos. A summary of some of the events we were involved in: Hope in the making (1 Nov) Girls@COP26 - Migration/ Climate refugees - A Women's Place (2 Nov) Climate Change and the Survival of Being - a sharing and reflection (3 Nov) Together for our Planet (3 Nov) Little Amal at COP26 - We Are Mighty (10 Nov) Final Climate Fringe Ceilidh (12 Nov) Feel Field: Sound and vision walks at the Climate Portal (12-20 Nov) The Ferret compiled “26 Voices: Visions from across Scotland on our climate future” featuring Prof Alison Phipps, outlining a vision for how Scotland could create a more sustainable and hopeful future. |
