Aims
- To provide funding for postgraduate research students to undertake a research placement, usually out with the UK at a recognised research institution.
- To provide funding to high quality students who have already shown academic distinction that will enrich and further their academic experience and research achievements.
- To foster collaborative links with other research institutions
- To introduce new skills to the University.
The Postgraduate Travel Scholarships do not cover:
- conference attendance (although you may attend relevant conferences during your stay)
- tuition fees or routine living expenses (other than those incurred on placement)
- students returning to their home country for their placement, unless clear evidence is provided to show that the placement would add significantly to their technical expertise (for example, because the home country leads study in the field)
- equipment purchase
- travel insurance (you can access this via the University free of charge. University of Strathclyde travel insurance). Please also view University's Travel Booking Policy and note that the use of Airbnb accommodation bookings is prohibited.
