Prof Padgett wins European Physical Society prize for quantum electronics and optics.

Professor Miles Padgett was awarded the 2021 EPS-Quantum Electronics and Optics Division (QEOD) Quantum Electronics and Optics Prize for his pioneering and wide-ranging research on the fundamentals and applications of optical angular movements.

Prof Padgett received his award at the CLEO/Europe – European Quantum Electronics Conference (EQEC) on Tuesday 22 June. The conference brought together a world-class gathering of optics and photonics researchers and engineers.


Miles said “I am honoured to have been awarded the European Physical Society Quantum Electronics and Optics prize. Many thanks to the prize committee and of course my own research teams within Glasgow Optics, QuantIC and the University of Glasgow.”
