Laser World of Photonics is one of the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Photonics Components, Systems and Applications. They expect around 34,000 visitors across four days with 1,300 exhibitors from around the world.

This year is the first year of the new exhibition WORLD OF QUANTUM which will explore the future in photonics: quantum technology and its potential applications in areas including computing and cryptography, sensing and imaging, communications, and medicine.

Quantum technology research is key for industrial advancement across many sectors. The aim of the exhibition is to present the latest findings by universities, research associations and quantum clusters to industry leaders across Europe to evaluate potential commercial applications.

QuantIC’s participation at Laser includes a panel discussion from Professor Miles Padgett on quantum imaging (Thursday 10-12.40 in World of Quantum), an industry presentation on how the UK National Quantum Technology Programme is advancing quantum imaging with industry partners, and an exhibition stand showcasing:

• GasSight – University of Glasgow
Ultra sensitive infrared microscopy – University of Glasgow
• Ultra-low Noise Sensing – University of Bristol
Megaprojector – University of Strathclyde
• QuantIC detectors and sensors

QuantIC can be found in the World of Quantum hall A4, stand 232/233. Come along and say hi!

Contact Clare.Kidd@glasgow.ac.uk if you wish to meet with any of the team from QuantIC while they are in Munich. The team will be available from Monday 25 April.
