SCMI to reopen for non-COVID19 work
Published: 29 June 2020
The SCMI will reopen for non-COVID19 work on 1st July following social distancing guidelines.
Following the publication of the University’s Campus Management Plan and Guide for Researchers, the SCMI is set to reopen on Wednesday 1st July.
Re-opening will be following social distancing and all other government and university guidance. All rooms in the suite have a maximum occupancy of 1 person, so no user training will take place, and users will not be able to sit in on data collection. Trained, self-sufficient users may book equipment as usual. Users who are not yet self-sufficient can arrange a socially distanced sample drop-off with facility staff, and request microscope time through the booking system.
Remote operation will take place by video call with screen sharing, once the sample is loaded and the microscope is ready. We have webcams and microphones on order to facilitate this.
